 1.0 What is wisdom? Wisdom is that attribute of God which enables Him to Judge rightly what is the best end and the best means to get there. God does not make mistakes and He cannot fail.

2.0 There are other kinds of wisdom, namely:

2.01 Man’s wisdom: It comes from

  • Academic knowledge
  • Experience in life
  • Culture

2.01 Wisdom of this world: It comes from

  • The princes that control the world. {Ex 7:11-13}
  • Familiar spirits [Acts 16:16}

2.02 God’s wisdom [Divine wisdom]: It comes from

  • The Almighty God and cannot be predicted using any scientific formulae or method.

3.00 Examples of God’s wisdom:

  • God’s creation of the world. [Prov. 3:19]
  • Lamb of God that was slain before the foundation of the word. [Rev. 13:8]
  • The atonement for sin by Jesus Christ
  • Moses rod that became serpent before Pharaoh. [Ex. 7:10-12]
  • Daniel’s interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream. [Dan. 2]

4.0 Who is  entitled to God’s wisdom?

4.01 Before Christ’s Atonement:

  • Prophets [and Judges], Priests, kings and a few other men that God used were entitled to God’s wisdom.

4.01 After Christ’s atonement:

  • Every Christian became entitled to receive God’s wisdom.
  • God made this attribute of His available in Christ Jesus and the purpose is for those who will come into Him to enjoy. Col. 2:2-3, 1 Cor 1:30.

5.00 How do we access this wisdom?

5.01 By prayer resulting the guidance of the Holy Spirit, {The Spirit within} [James 1:5, Eph 1: 15-19]

5.02 By exercising the gifts of the Spirit, {The Spirit upon} [1Cor. 12:7-8]

6.0 What are the purpose and benefits of God’ wisdom.

  • It provides divine solution to earthly challenges. [Psalm 112:4]
  • It reveals the living God and His Son to the world. [Dan 2:26-28]
  • It brings promotion to God’s people and His kingdom [Prov. 4:8, Dan 2:48]
  • It makes people to recognise and honour the Lord in the life of His servants. [Dan 2:46, Prov.4:8]
  • It imparts Grace in the life of the believer. [Prov.4:9]

7.0 What are the implications of this provision?

  • We must ask for God’s wisdom in all we do.
  • We should diligently seek and find wisdom for all our goals and plans.
